What is a core charge?
Many sales items require a “core charge”. The “core charge” is a fee charged at the initial sales transaction to insure the integrity of parts returned to the seller in exchange for remanufactured items.
The term “core” is actually an acronym for “cash on return”. Cores are rebuildable parts that can be redeemed for a portion of the purchase price of remanufactured products. An acceptable core is a unit in suitable condition to be remanufactured.
The “core charge” is calculated based on the replacement cost of a like “core” in the event the “core” being returned is not in suitable condition to be remanufactured. The “core charge” is actually insurance to the seller that returned “cores” are in suitable remanufacturing condition.
Returned “cores” are tested to determine their ability to be remanufactured. The “core charge” will be refunded or credited to the buyer based upon the test results of returned “cores”. (All “cores” not in suitable condition to be remanufactured will be charged against the “core charge” on a per unit basis.)
Acceptable “cores” returned for test evaluation must be the same model number as the item purchased.
“Cores” should be returned for test evaluation within 40 days of the purchase date. “Cores” should be returned in the original container of the remanufactured items. The purchaser is responsible for the shipping charges of returned “cores”. All “cores” should be insured for the full amount of the “core charge”.
All “cores” should be shipped to:
